Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit hanyatechnologies.com, how that information is used, and which third parties are involved.
This policy describes the technical behaviour of the Hanya Technologies website. It has not been reviewed by legal counsel. Obligations under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and comparable regimes depend on where Hanya Technologies operates and where its visitors are located; those determinations are not made here. This document should be reviewed by qualified counsel before being relied upon as a compliance statement.
01 Scope and Application
This policy applies to the website at hanyatechnologies.com and its subpages. It does not cover any third-party website you reach by following a link from this site, nor any separate product, application or service operated by Hanya Technologies under different terms.
The website is a set of static files served over HTTPS. It has no application server, no database, and no user accounts. There is no registration, no login, and no mechanism by which the site itself stores information about you.
02 Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
The website contains no form that transmits data to Hanya Technologies. The contact and consultation forms operate entirely within your browser: on submission they assemble a pre-addressed message and hand it to your own email client. No information is sent anywhere unless you then choose to send that email.
If you do send an email, we receive the contents of your message together with your email address and any information you elect to include.
2.2 Information collected automatically
As with any web server, our hosting provider generates standard access logs. These typically record:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- The URL requested and the HTTP status returned
- Browser user-agent string and, where sent, the referring page
These logs are a function of the hosting infrastructure. They are used for security, diagnostics and service availability, not for profiling or advertising.
2.3 Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how it is used — how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether they arrived from a search engine, another website or directly. This helps us understand which parts of the site are useful and which are not.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records:
- Pages viewed, and the order and duration of those views
- A truncated IP address, from which an approximate location (typically city or region) is derived
- Device type, operating system, browser and screen size
- How you reached the site — search engine, referring website, or direct
The data is pseudonymous: it is tied to a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser, not to your name or email address. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it, and we do not combine it with information you send us by email. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are not enabled, so this data is not used to build advertising profiles.
Google Analytics is operated by Google, which acts as our data processor and applies its own privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy. Collected data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
To opt out: install Google's official Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, enable “Do Not Track” or an equivalent blocker, or clear and block cookies for this site through your browser's settings. The website works normally either way.
2.4 Information we do not collect
- No session recording, heat-mapping or keystroke logging is used.
- No advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking tags are present.
- No user accounts, credentials or payment information are collected.
- No special-category or sensitive personal data is requested.
03 How Information Is Used
Information received by email is used solely to respond to your enquiry and to conduct any resulting business correspondence. Server access logs are used for security, diagnostics and maintaining service availability.
Analytics data is used in aggregate, to understand how the site is used and to decide what to improve. It is not used to make decisions about individual visitors, and it is never linked to correspondence you send us.
We do not sell, rent or license personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We operate no mailing list and send no unsolicited communications.
04 Cookies and Local Storage
4.1 Cookies
The only cookies set by this website are those used by Google Analytics:
| Cookie | Expires | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
_ga | 2 years | Holds the random identifier that distinguishes one browser from another, so repeat visits are not counted as new people. |
_ga_83B0LXGG3K | 2 years | Holds session state for this specific site. |
Neither contains your name, email address or any information you have given us. Section 2.3 explains how to opt out.
4.2 Local storage
The site stores two values in your browser's local storage. These are functional preferences only. They remain on your device, are never transmitted to any server, are not attached to network requests, and contain no identifier of any kind.
| Key | Value | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
hanya-theme | light or dark | Remembers your display-theme preference between visits. |
hanya-ann-df26 | 1 | Records that you dismissed the announcement banner, so it is not shown again. |
You may clear all of the above at any time through your browser's site-data controls. The website functions normally without them.
05 Third-Party Services
5.1 Google Fonts
The website loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). This is the most significant third-party data flow on the site and we state it plainly: when a page loads, your browser makes a request to Google's servers, and Google therefore receives your IP address, user-agent string and the fact that the request originated from this site.
This occurs automatically on page load, before any interaction on your part. It is governed by Google's own privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy. Some jurisdictions treat this transfer as requiring consent; self-hosting the font files would remove the disclosure entirely and remains an option under consideration.
5.2 Google Analytics
The site loads Google Analytics from googletagmanager.com, which transmits the measurement data described in section 2.3 to Google. Google acts as our processor for this data and may transfer it to servers in the United States. What is collected, how long it is kept, and how to opt out are all set out in section 2.3.
5.3 Hosting
The website and its associated email are hosted by HostGator. As our hosting provider, HostGator processes traffic to the site and generates the server logs described in section 2.2.
5.4 Outbound links
The site links to external destinations, including Salesforce and the MetaLens360 application. Following such a link takes you to a service operated by another party under its own privacy policy. No data is transmitted to those destinations unless you choose to follow the link.
Aside from Google Fonts and Google Analytics, the site makes no other third-party requests. All other assets are served from our own domain.
06 Data Security
The website is served exclusively over HTTPS. Because it holds no database and processes no submissions server-side, the site itself stores no personal information that could be exposed.
Email correspondence is held on hosted mail infrastructure protected by access controls and authentication. No transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
07 Data Retention
Email correspondence is retained for as long as it remains relevant to our relationship with you or is required for legitimate business or legal purposes. You may request deletion of correspondence at any time, subject to any overriding legal retention obligation.
Server access logs are retained according to our hosting provider's standard practice and are not consolidated into any long-term visitor record by us.
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months from collection, after which Google deletes it automatically. Aggregate reporting derived from it may persist beyond that point, but it identifies no individual and cannot be traced back to one.
08 Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may hold rights in respect of personal information we hold about you, which may include the right to:
- request confirmation of whether we hold information about you, and obtain a copy;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request erasure of information we no longer have grounds to keep;
- object to or request restriction of certain processing;
- lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Which of these apply, and on what terms, depends on the law of your jurisdiction. In practice, the only personal information we are likely to hold about you is correspondence you have sent us. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in section 11.
09 Children's Privacy
This website provides business-to-business professional services information and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or to legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this document indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected in a new version number. We maintain no mailing list and therefore do not notify individuals of updates; please review this page when it is relevant to you.
11 Contact
For any question about this policy, or to exercise a right described in section 8, contact us at info@hanyatechnologies.com, marking your message for the attention of Privacy.
